Holy Man

From the highest tower
Descends the holy man
Without hesitation
He drinks their blood again

For his life was granted
In part, by the god above
But from below he gathers
What mortals should not have

A deal was struck
With the envoy
Of the darkest one
Far below

Serpent eyes
Track his soul
Through reality
Up above

Through his steps walks the beast
In this domain of ours
A mortal as a man
Immortal as a god

Though his steps are heavy
The man will never lose his pace
Eternal life is greater
Than the pain that he is bound to face

Yet the serpent watches
For nothing is eternal to man
The lives he is taking
A scheme that he cannot sustain

And when the blood runs dry
In the mirror he will see the beast
"You took more than your piece;
Through greed you set me free"

A deal is struck
Once again
With the darkest one
Now above

Serpent eyes
Replace your own
And your soul is sent
Far below

Through his feet walks the beast
In the domain of god
From hell he came
To heaven he ascends with sin and death
