The first came
Made the land
Life's breath
Gave to man

Rules to follow
It sent down
Severe consequences drawn
You will keep them
Or you will die
Never forget
The crown

Merciful
It called itself
Yet pain it also made
Made you suffer
No remorse
Punishment with no recourse

Then the other
Dared to speak
Exiled from the eternal peak
His home below
Became his throne
He made humanity his own

Gave us reason
Taught us fear
He will never disappear
Long as humanity draws breath
We owe it to the serpent's path

But it is no longer true
That mankind is aware of you
We walk the path you showed us once
And yet your words are lost to us

You don't try to be known again
Or try to make yourself the main
Protagonist of all that is
Humility you teach with this
